If you live within the Cortez Fire Protection District, please contact us for free smoke alarm installations! We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross so we can install up to three free smoke alarms in any home within our district. Smoke alarms that are installed are Kidde 10 year sealed lithium battery alarms. These alarms do not require you to change the battery like older models. You just need to test the smoke alarm every month to make sure it is working properly. After 10 years, you throw it away and replace it with a new smoke alarm!
