Are You Prepared for an emergency?

A recent FEMA survey on Disaster Preparedness found nearly 51% of Americans believe they are prepared for a disaster and 57% took three or more actions to prepare for a disaster within the last year. The most common actions taken include updating disaster supplies (48%) and making a plan (37%). The lease common actions were planning with neighbors (12%) and getting involved in your community (14%). Are you prepared?

Community Connect

The Cortez Fire Protection District is always seeking new ways to enhance the services we provide to our communities. We are excited to introduce Community Connect—a new program designed to help us protect lives and property more effectively than ever before.

Community Connect is a free, secure, and easy-to-use platform that allows residents to share critical information about their households with our emergency response teams. By voluntarily providing details about your home or any special needs you or your family members may have, you help ensure that our first responders are better prepared to assist you during an emergency.

Whether it’s medical conditions, mobility limitations, or the presence of pets, any information you choose to share can make a significant difference in how we respond—and in how we protect what matters most to you.

Your safety is our top priority.

With Community Connect, we're working together to build a safer, stronger community.

Wildfire Adapted Partnership

Wildfire Adapted Partnership works with our neighbors and agency partners to create wildfire adapted communities. We assist local residents in creating defensible space, planning wildfire evacuations, and preparing for wildfire on the neighborhood level through education and grant opportunities offered through Wildfire Adapted programs.
